Descanso Gardens Seeks Art Entries for Upcoming Show
Artists and gardens go together like Van Gogh and sunflowers. If Descanso Gardens has inspired your own artistic endeavors, why not share your vision?
The Sturt Haaga Gallery at Descanso Gardens is seeking submissions of art to present in Portraits of the Gardens, its first juried and invitational exhibition, which opens in January 2014.
Organizers are seeking unique perspectives of Descanso Gardens created by local artists, both practicing and hobbyist, working in varied media, including painting, photography and drawing. The juried competition will provide an opportunity for artists at all levels of practice and with many different types of relationships with the Descanso landscape — some extending back a half-century and others new to our gardens — to exhibit their best work.
The jury-selected artwork will be displayed in conjunction with artwork commissioned by three leading Los Angeles artists: Astrid Preston, Steve Roden and Linda Hudson.
Entries are accepted online only through the art website Call For Entry. Click on https://www.callforentry.org/festivals.php and put Descanso Gardens in the keyword search box.
